SPAC is the Stakeholder Planning Advisory Committee, comprised of individuals or stakeholders who share in a common goal and can impact or be impacted by the organization’s objectives. iCare’s stakeholders are from a wide array of organizations that have a stake in iCare’s programs. It is a means for providers and other stakeholders to participate in iCare’s program design in the following areas:
- Benefits planning
- Department of Health Services (“DHS”) initiatives
- Value-added services
- Provider-plan relations
- Quality and value-based purchasing metrics
- Provide input to the Quality Management / Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement programs
Cogs in the wheel
There are several stakeholder groups—members, influencers, providers and governance. Each stakeholder group is crucial to the existence and the success of the organization, just like a cog in a wheel. All cogs are necessary to keep the wheel strong and keep it going. Without all stakeholder groups partnering with iCare, iCare would cease to exist. No cogs, no wheel.
Driven toward the same goals
iCare brings its Stakeholders together at the SPAC Forum. Held annually, the SPAC Forum is a way for iCare and industry leaders to work together and share ideas and updates that impact the healthcare “wheel.” Typically, each Forum has a theme. Past themes have included:
- Opportunities for Community Based Organizations to increase revenue
- Understanding Medicaid Supports for the Homeless
At the 2020 Forum, leading experts will offer their perspectives on imminent changes to the Behavioral Health and Substance Abuse Disorder landscape in Milwaukee County and across Wisconsin. To register, go to https://www.iCareHealthPlan.org/forum
Each Forum provides an opportunity for all the stakeholders with a vested interest, to come together, build relationships, and ultimately find better ways to serve those individuals for whom iCare and its stakeholders exist. iCare relies on its stakeholders to help drive momentum towards the same goals.
“The whole is greater than the sum of its parts”
Aristotle had it right. When individual parts (stakeholders) are connected to form one entity, they are worth more than if the parts were in silos. By working together, we can certainly achieve more. And, the SPAC guides us all in that journey.
