Gender Affirming Care
Gender-affirming care encompasses a range of behavioral, medical, psychological and social interventions designed to support and affirm an individual’s gender identity when it conflicts with the gender they were assigned at birth.
iCare follows the Wisconsin Department Health Services Medicaid Guidelines in Forward Health regarding the coverage of gender-affirming medical and/or surgical treatments (GAMASTs). Please refer to this Forward Health Update No.2020-17 for covered services and requirements.
